Spirit Airlines will introduce new fare bundles next month with the goal of appealing to a wider range of flyers. The bundles will go on sale Aug. 16 for flights starting Aug. 27.

"We listened to our guests and are excited to deliver what they want: choices for an elevated experience that are affordable and provide unparalleled value," Spirit CEO Ted Christie said Tuesday.

Spirit's new bundles will include a basic option, called Go. It allows a personal item that fits below the seat but requires customers to pay extra for a checked bag, seat selection, WiFi, snacks and drinks.

Go will differ from Spirit's current unbundled tickets only in that a carry-on won't be allowed, even for a fee.

The first bundle, called Go Savvy, enables passengers to choose a carry-on or checked bag. Standard seat assignments are free. Snacks, drinks and WiFi will have to be purchased. Go Savvy mirrors Spirit's current Economy Bundle.

Spirit's second-level bundle, called Go Comfy, will include seat selection, a blocked adjacent middle seat, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, nonalcoholic beverages, a small snack and Group 2 early boarding.

Buyers of Spirit's top-end bundle, Go Big, will sit in the more spacious Big Front Seat at the front of the cabin. The bundle will include WiFi, Group 1 priority boarding and the other items that come with the Go Comfy bundle.

Go Big will have similarities with the airline's existing Big Front Seat Bundle, but with included WiFi, food and beverages and a checked bag.

Also enhancing the experience, Spirit said, will be the introduction of designated priority check-in lanes at more than 20 airports on Aug. 27. The lane will be available to Go Big flyers as well as well as Gold-level members of the Free Spirit loyalty program and holders of the Free Spirit World Elite Mastercard.
