Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is adding another blockbuster sporting event to its resume: The 68,000-seat venue has been selected to host the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 25, 2027.
Allegiant Stadium hosted its first Super Bowl in 2024, and it is set to host the NCAA Final Four on April 1 and 3, 2028. When it's not welcoming these highest-profile events, the stadium is home to the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas football team. Known for decades for its championship boxing matches, the city also attracts the worldwide attention of the sports world for its annual Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix each fall.
"Las Vegas has shown the world they have amazing venues and boundless energy to host an event like the College Football Playoff National Championship in spectacular fashion," said Rich Clark, executive director of the College Football Playoff. "I can't think of a better stage to crown the best team in college football in 2027."
Las Vegas will become just the third city in the Pacific time zone to host the CFP title game, joining the San Francisco Bay Area (2019) and Los Angeles (2023).
