Luxury adventure travel company Pelorus wants kids to inspire trip planning with "Imagine This," a program that designs trips inspired by the imagination of a child.

Pelorus turned to its employees' children, inviting them to let their dreams run wild, resulting in sample itineraries that bring out "the child in us all," Pelorus said.

The company said it launched the trip style because of an increase in multigenerational travel. The company launched Pelorus Junior last year, which provides parallel itineraries for young travelers on family vacations.

Sample itineraries were inspired by children's desires to reach the stars in a rocket ship, have a snowball fight with Yetis, transform into a crocodile and go swimming, hunt down buried treasure with pirates and swim alongside mermaids.

Sebastian, an 8-year-old, tasked Pelorus trip planners with creating trip suggestions inspired by his desire "to zoom up into the stars in my own rocket ship with my teddy." The Pelorus suggestions? Sailing the Pacific Ocean on a private yacht with an onboard astronomer, walking the salt plains of Uyuni to evoke the feeling of walking on the moon, and sleeping in a futuristic Airstream after meeting with an astronaut.

For Sophie, a 5-year-old who said she wanted to "be a crocodile and swim all the way to the jungle where the monkeys live," the Pelorus team recommended her family kayak Peru's Yanayacu River in hopes of catching a glimpse of the river's pink dolphins. Or, her family could assist researchers onboard set up wildlife cameras in Costa Rica and visit Madagascar's jungles.

Seven-year-old Cecilia dreams of swimming with the mermaids and rescuing turtles, so Pelorus recommended she and her family snorkel "anywhere from the pristine Pacific to the indigo hues of the Indian Ocean." The team also suggested helping marine biologists tag sharks off the Mozambique coast and planting coral reefs.
