AmaWaterways is launching wellness-focused river cruises later this year designed for active and health-conscious travelers.

The cruises, which will set sail in August, will feature healthy meals, extended hikes and daily wellness classes, complete with two onboard wellness hosts who offer personalized support to guests.

"As an advocate for a healthy lifestyle, I am passionate about offering our guests a vacation that nurtures their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being'' said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president at AmaWaterways.

Guests can expect at least six wellness classes offered each day, including champagne yoga, core strengthening, circuit training, dance and resistance band stretching. A morning juice bar will be available on board alongside a health-focused menu.

Other wellness options onboard include a fitness room, swimming pool and walking track.

The sailings will be offered Aug. 2 to 9 on the Danube and Aug. 9 to 16 in France. Itineraries for the cruises have not yet been released, but the company aims to provide a "comprehensive wellness experience."

The seven-night Melodies of the Danube itinerary features hiking and biking excursions in Old World Europe. The seven-night Paris and Normandy itinerary includes hiking in Northern France and a bike ride to the Eiffel Tower.
